Cubs in a tangle

The cubs were given a challenge this week, to build a free-standing structure which could carry the weight of a brick.

The three sixes each had a good attempt – some more successfully than others.

The evening finished up with a game called ‘Tidy Up’ where junior members of each six had to adorn their sixers with as much equipment as possible (without dropping any).  This wasn’t just a test of strength for the sixers, but tested their creativity in finding new ways to hold everything!

Mouse Powered Machines!

Despite the headline, the scouts did not train any mice to power their constructions during Friday’s meeting.  Instead, the scouts built and raced mini cars powered by a wooden mousetrap.
