The Young Leaders put on a fantastic Halloween party this year, with zombies, buckets of brains, creepie-crawlies as well as the usual apple bobbing and bowls of flour. They also filled the hall with spookie smoke and eerie lights!

Lots of sweets at Sixers & Seconders evening
You knew that, if the Cubs organised the evening themselves, there would be sweets involved, and that’s how it turned out!
They started with a paper aeroplane design challenge (sweets as prizes) to a paper aeroplane race (sweets as prizes) – won by Alfie.
The ladder game was followed by – which team can build the highest Polo tower (Kai’s group) (you can guess what the prize was). The evening finished off with an eating-sweets-with-chopsticks challenge (no prize necessary).
Let’s hope they all cleaned their teeth properly before bed! Well done to the Sixers and Seconders

Cubs in a tangle
The cubs were given a challenge this week, to build a free-standing structure which could carry the weight of a brick.
The three sixes each had a good attempt – some more successfully than others.
The evening finished up with a game called ‘Tidy Up’ where junior members of each six had to adorn their sixers with as much equipment as possible (without dropping any). This wasn’t just a test of strength for the sixers, but tested their creativity in finding new ways to hold everything!
Cubs Cook!
Our young leaders helped our cubs cook up a treat last night – on the menu was pizza, shortbread and banana splits. It wasn’t the healthiest meal but they all enjoyed it.

Guys for Friday’s Bonfire

The Cubs made Guys for Friday’s bonfire. I don’t know about you, but I think I might know who they are supposed to be…
Gathering of Ghouls!
The beavers and cubs had their Halloween party last night, and what a gruesome gathering it was!
Despite the fearsome sight, the ghouls set aside their differences and enjoyed a selection of party games including the now-traditional bobbing for chocolate in flour.
The evening ended with a nice selection of party food and a test-run of our new popcorn machine!
